When you later apply adjustments in Photos to the photo you shared, the changes will not be applied to the version in your changed album. Once you dropped a postcard into the mailbox, you cannot edit it any longer. It is a new, independent photo, like a postcard or message you send someone. When you add a photo to a shared album, a downsized copy will be added to the shared album and upload to icloud. They are streams of photos, living outside the photos library.
